The problem

Enamelled sinks leave the kiln with a high-gloss white surface on which every flaw counts: sagged enamel, bare spots, embedded dust specks, bumps and scratches from Ø 1 mm — with different strictness per surface zone. On a mirror gloss these defects are visible only at particular light angles, so manual grading is slow, tiring and subjective.

The solution

A QiCHECK station with nine 13 MPix cameras covers both sides of the sink in one cycle. Ten dimmable flat LED panels are choreographed by the vision controller so no light ever shines into the active camera — the key to making defects on glossy enamel visible and repeatable. Evaluation rules per surface field are editable by the customer’s own quality team, and every part is archived with images, ready to link to labels and the factory’s ERP.

The result

Grading no longer depends on who is on shift: consistent per-zone evaluation, per-camera defect statistics with rework tracking, and a complete photo archive for every sink. The dashboard heatmap shows exactly which surface catches which defects, day by day.
