Transparent glue-bead inspection for window bonding

Bonding windows means a robot laying a transparent adhesive bead along the frame edge before the glass is pressed on. The glue is nearly invisible on the substrate, the contour is complex, input material varies and ambient light changes — and once the glass is pressed, a bad bead is an expensive reject. Checking a transparent bead by eye at line speed is unreliable.
A QiCHECK station with a 20 MPix camera system and linear lighting inspects the bead immediately after application: presence, continuity, length, thickness and position along the entire perimeter, and overflow past the frame edge — with tolerances in tenths of a millimetre, on transparent glue over a dark substrate. Built with integrator Stimba as part of a robotic gluing cell with two robots handling the process, so results feed back and the process stays in spec.
Every window is verified before pressing, when a bad bead can still be corrected. 100% of units documented with images — and the job our integrator still quotes in their reference: transparent glue under freshly pressed glass, 0.1 mm tolerances, infinite variations. We did it.
